2026 Light Tackle Sailfish Tournament

The 2026 Stuart Sailfish Club Light Tackle Sailfish Tournament returns December 16–19 — the 73rd year of one of Florida's longest-running and most prestigious sailfish tournaments.
A Stuart Sportfishing Tradition
The Light Tackle Tournament is one of the events that helped define Stuart as the Sailfish Capital of the World. It was among the first all-release billfish tournaments with official observers, and it has set the standard for ethical, skill-driven sportfishing for more than seven decades.
The format is built around precision: 20lb test or lighter, in strict accordance with IGFA rules, with all sailfish released. Teams compete across three eligible fishing days and select two on which to fish.
What to Expect
The tournament week typically includes:
- Captain's Meeting and Kick-Off Party to open the week
- Three eligible fishing days, with teams selecting two
- Annual Braggin' Bash — live music, raw bar, and weigh-station activities open to the public
- Awards Celebration to close the tournament with dinner, live music, and the final awards handed out
Categories typically include Top Boat Overall and Daily, Top Captain, Crew, and Member Boat, Top Lady Angler, Top Junior Angler, and Heaviest Meatfish.
Open to members and non-members alike.
