Junior Angler Fishing Tournament

The Stuart Sailfish Club’s annual Jr. Angler Tournament is all about inspiring the next generation of fishermen and women. Open to kids 16 and under, the event combines a fun day of fishing with family-friendly activities like arts, crafts, and games at the docks.Each young angler receives tournament gear, snacks, and keepsakes to make the day memorable, while families enjoy a festive atmosphere that celebrates community as much as the catch. The Jr. Angler Tournament is designed to get more kids on the water, build confidence, and share the joy of sportfishing with everyone.

Tournament Description

The Stuart Sailfish Club proudly presents the 47th Annual Jr. Angler Tournament, a beloved tradition designed to get kids under 18 on the water and involved in sportfishing. This inshore and offshore event combines fishing with a full weekend of family fun at the Tiki.

The action begins on Friday, July 18th with a lively Captain’s Meeting at 5:00 PM, featuring activities like face painting, patch hats, fishing backpack giveaways, and a chance to meet local captains. Fishing takes place on Saturday, July 19th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by weigh-ins at the Tiki and a festive Awards Banquet.

Every junior angler will enjoy unique touches like Gyotaku fish prints at the weigh station, trophies, raffles, and a catered local BBQ. At just $100 per angler, this event is all about creating memories, celebrating conservation, and inspiring the next generation of fishermen and women.
