The STUART SAILFISH CLUB was formed more than 66 years ago and incorporated in January of 1941. It is one of the oldest sportfishing clubs in the United States, formed for the purpose of promoting the conservation of gamefish and encouraging visitors to fish in Martin County waters. To this day, these remain our primary goals. We attract visitors by sponsoring offshore fishing tournaments and then donate a large part of the proceeds to worthy conservation programs and local conservation organizations.
The fishing tournaments sponsored by the SAILFISH CLUB are oriented toward fun in a family atmosphere. We encourage and reward the participation of female and junior anglers.
At the present time, we hold five tournaments each year....and each is unique. Each participant and sponsor has always been proud to be associated with them.
In addition, we sponsor a Scholarship Program, publish a newsletter and maintain a dynamic website. General Membership meetings are usually held bimonthly. Our Members Tournament, which as the name implies is for members only, is held in November in conjunction with our Annual Awards Dinner Meeting. At that time the Club's new officers and directors are introduced and awards are presented to our members for their outstanding catches and releases for the prior Club year (October 1st - September 30th).
